Specialism 02 · Frontend Engineering

Frontend engineers for iGaming.

React, Vue and TypeScript engineers shipping the UIs players actually see. Casino lobbies, live sportsbook, in-play cashout, wallet flows, KYC. We know the frontends that hold up at scale and the engineers who build them.

Frontend engineering in iGaming

The product the player actually touches.

The frontend is what makes iGaming feel like a product. Live odds updating, cashout flashing amber, the roulette wheel spinning at 60fps, the deposit flow that has to convert on the first try. Performance is not a nice-to-have here, it is revenue. And with real money on screen, small UI bugs become big incidents fast.

The stacks are as varied as any modern web frontend. React dominates, Vue holds a strong share, some Angular remains in older platforms, and TypeScript is table stakes across all of it. State management, real-time updates through WebSockets, accessibility, cross-browser stability, and the difficult work of keeping a design system consistent across dozens of markets and skins. This is genuinely difficult engineering, dressed up as UI.

In iGaming that work also has to survive regulatory scrutiny, work across geo-restricted content, and stay fast on the mid-range Android device a real player actually uses at 11pm on a Saturday. The best frontend engineers we place already think about all of that. The ones we introduce from strong adjacent sectors pick it up quickly because they understand the underlying craft.

The frontend talent market in iGaming has grown more sophisticated with the shift towards component-driven design systems and micro-frontend architectures. Many operators now run design systems shared across multiple brands and skins, and the engineers who can contribute to that layer are particularly valued. Compensation reflects it. Remote work is common at senior level, though hybrid arrangements in Malta, Gibraltar and Cyprus remain the norm for tech leads and staff engineers. We map the specific engineers building the products you compete with, and the strong candidates ready to move into iGaming from adjacent regulated sectors, then we introduce the ones who fit the role.

What we assess

More than a framework preference.

Framework choice is a starting point, not a shortlist. We look at what a candidate can actually build, how they think about performance and accessibility, and how they work with design and backend.

Why a specialist

Why frontend hiring takes a specialist.

We know the modern stack

React, Vue, TypeScript, Next.js, Nuxt. We understand where each fits and which operators are running which.

We test real signal

We assess how a candidate thinks about performance, accessibility and testing, not just which framework they list first.

We understand iGaming UI

Live data, high stakes, and a player base that scrolls fast. We brief candidates on what shipping to that audience actually takes.

A European network

Frontend engineers we know personally across Malta, Gibraltar, Cyprus, the UK and remote Europe.

FAQ

Frontend hiring, answered.

Which frameworks do you recruit for?

React is the most common, followed by Vue and Angular. We also place engineers working in Svelte and Solid where the role calls for it.

Do you place contract frontend engineers?

Yes. Contract and permanent, on-site and fully remote across Malta, Gibraltar, Cyprus, the UK and remote Europe.

Player-facing versus internal tools, which do you recruit for?

Both. Most of our work is player-facing (casino, sportsbook, wallet), but we also place engineers building CRM tools, back-office and analytics UIs.

How quickly can I have a shortlist?

Typically five to ten working days for permanent roles depending on framework and seniority. Contract shortlists move faster.

What salary ranges should we expect for frontend engineers in iGaming?

Ranges depend heavily on framework, seniority and hub. Mid-level frontend engineers in Malta typically sit around €45-65k, seniors €65-85k, tech leads and staff engineers €85-115k. Specialist roles in performance engineering, design systems or live sportsbook frontends can carry premiums. UK and remote European roles carry different bands. We share current market data on the specific role and location during the intake call.
