Specialism 04 · Cloud & Infrastructure

Cloud engineers for iGaming.

AWS, GCP and Azure specialists running the infrastructure underneath modern iGaming. Multi-region, low-latency, cost-controlled and compliance-aware. We place the people who make the invisible parts work.

Cloud & infrastructure in iGaming

The infra that has to be there, everywhere, cheaply.

iGaming infrastructure has hard constraints most industries never encounter. Data residency by jurisdiction, low-latency requirements for in-play betting, cost discipline as user volumes swing across major sports events, and disaster recovery obligations that regulators actually check. Get it right and no one notices. Get it wrong and it makes the trade press within hours.

The cloud choice varies. AWS dominates the operator side, GCP has strong footprint in data-heavy suppliers, Azure appears more often where the wider group already runs Microsoft. Multi-cloud is real but usually reluctant. What matters most is not the vendor but the discipline. IaC by default, sensible cost governance, clear networking, workable IAM, and a real DR plan that has been tested rather than documented.

The cloud and infrastructure engineers we place understand all of that, and they can also talk to a compliance officer without frustration. That combination is genuinely rare. We find the specialists who know both the AWS console and the ISO 27001 auditor's questions, and we introduce candidates from adjacent regulated sectors when it makes the right shortlist for the role.

The cloud talent market in iGaming reflects the wider engineering picture. Strong AWS engineers with real production ownership are the most in demand, GCP specialists command a premium in data-heavy roles, and Azure candidates fit specific groups where the wider corporate estate is Microsoft-aligned. Package expectations have risen with cloud cost pressures across the industry, and FinOps-literate engineers now attract material premiums because they pay back their salary many times over in optimised spend. We map that market carefully so your shortlist reflects who is actually available, at what package, in the time frame you have.

What we assess

More than a certification.

Certifications tell you what a candidate has passed. We assess how they design, cost and secure a real cloud estate that supports a real-money platform.

Why a specialist

Why cloud hiring takes a specialist.

We know each cloud market

AWS, GCP, Azure. We know the operators running each, the engineers who move between them, and how the market prices each skillset.

We test design signal

We assess how a candidate designs, secures and costs a real cloud environment, not just which services they can name.

We understand regulated infra

Data residency, DR, audit evidence. We brief candidates on what a regulator actually wants to see.

A European network

Cloud engineers we know personally across Malta, Gibraltar, Cyprus, the UK and remote Europe.

FAQ

Cloud hiring, answered.

Which clouds do you recruit for most?

AWS is the most common in iGaming, with strong GCP demand on the data and supplier side and Azure appearing where the wider group is Microsoft-aligned.

Do you place contract cloud engineers?

Yes. Contract and permanent, on-site and fully remote across Malta, Gibraltar, Cyprus, the UK and remote Europe.

Can you find engineers with iGaming compliance experience?

Often, yes. Where the role needs specific iGaming or ISO 27001 experience we prioritise it. Elsewhere we widen to fintech, payments and other regulated sectors.

How quickly can I have a shortlist?

Typically five to ten working days for permanent roles. Contract shortlists move faster.

What salary ranges should we expect for cloud engineers in iGaming?

Cloud compensation depends heavily on cloud vendor experience and depth of production ownership. Mid-level cloud engineers in Malta typically sit around €55-75k, seniors €75-100k, cloud architects and infrastructure leads €100-140k. FinOps-literate candidates and multi-cloud specialists command premiums. UK and fully remote European roles carry different bands. We share current market data on the specific role during intake.
